1989 Comics Buyer's Guide:

And then there's Ralph Snart Adventures ($1.75) by the irrepressible Marc Hansen. This is the only holdover from NOW's earliest days and the primary difference between these stories and earlier Ralph series (this is volume three, so there have been two previous incarnations) is that they are appearing in color. Ralph leads a somewhat unconventional existence - in his first issue, he dies twice, becomes a super-hero when he is bitten by a radio-active rat, and battles a super-villian. Two deaths and two origin stories in one issue; Marvel and DC seldom match that.

Ralph is funny. It certainly isn't sophisticated humor, but then it doesn't pretend that it is; there are no "Mature Readers" advisories to make pseudo-intellectuals feel less guilty about enjoying something that is rude, crude, obvious, and - above all - funny. Grade: A-minus.
