Ralph Snart, who was given a mega-dose of growth serum by Dr. Goot, is out of control. Dr. Goot is finally able to subdue him by shooting him with a cannon. The dazed Ralph Snart enters his fanstasy world...We see a stinking, rotting stiff laying motionless on the ground; it moves and we find out it's alive; it is merely Ralph Snart with a hangover. Ralph undergoes his standard hangover curing ritual, and is relaxing in a chair when there is a loud knock on the door.

At the door we find his old nemesis "the purification advisor", who now has a new job with the Comic Monitoring Alliance of America, since the cult of the Red Cabbage was abandoned thanks to Ralph (RSA volume 3 issue 9). He sits Ralph on his "stool of righteous behavior", and zaps him with 10,000 volts of electricity every time Ralph gives a "wrong" answer. Much later, Ralph has become a respectable comic book character, and is introduced to the doubting media at a press conference, where Ralph succeeds in convincing them he has changed. One Month later, Ralph is called into NOW Comic's publisher Tony Caputo's office to be told sales of RSA have plummeted, and Tony is cancelling Ralph's comic book.

The purification advisor gives Ralph a job at the Comic Monitoring Alliance. Ralph notices that there are a lot of attractive lady types at the alliance, and he would like to "court" some of them with the advisor's permission. The advisor informs Ralph that a vow of celabacy is required at the alliance. This is what finally makes Ralph snap. He kicks the advisors ass and paints the town red. Back in reality, Dr. Goot has fitted Ralph with a costume, and introduces him as his latest creation; Goot's Goon. He commands Ralph to go out and destroy.
