RSA VOLUME 3 ISSUE 20 - MAY 1990 - "RODENT RALPH"
We begin in reality once again, with Suckerman exhausting all leads to find Dr. Goot. Dr. Goot instead finds him, and promptly beats him down in his own home. Mr. Toog surfaces once again in a courtroom, asking for Snart's release to a mental institution. This allows Dr. Goot to more easily apprehend Snart, and does so instantly. Goot returns to his lair, seemingly complete once again after obtaining Ralph Snart and his amazing brain.
Then, in a bizarre plot twist, we find Goot lamenting his lack of companionship (read: he's horny). Holly Hornswaggle, the new character from last month's issue, appears at Goot's door, and he is instantly attracted to her. She accepts his offer, despite the underground location and lackluster living quarters. After waking in the middle of the night from Ralph's screams, brought on by a fresh round of Dr. Goot's mind-altering experiments, Holly hides out and waits for Dr. Goot to go to sleep. Once inside the lab, Holly finds Ralph, finally waking from his goof-induced rantings. She is instantly attracted to him, and decides to free him and escape with him. We once again see Ralph in a pitiful, yet more sane, state; blaming himself and desiring to be punished to the full extent of the law for his crimes. Holly obviously believes this is a direct result of Dr. Goot's experiments having warped his brain beyond repair.
Dr. Goot wakes up to find the two kissing on their way out. Enraged, he ties them up and begins lowering them slowly into a pit of one-eyed slug monsters. We end on this suspenseful note.
